Mrs. Margaret May (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Sunday, March 28, 2004 at her residence, Mrs. Margaret Kelly May, 77, of Augusta. Mrs. May was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh H. May, Sr. and her son John Michael May. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 1, 2004 at 3 p.m. from the Thomas Poteet & Son Chapel with Rev. John W.P. Oliver officiating. Interment in Westover Memorial Park. Honorary escort will be members of the Trinity Bible class Pallbearers will be Bobby Dyson, William Hatcher, Jr., Rev. Gene Johnson, Doug Jones, Sam Kelly and Lewis Welch. Surviving family members are her daughter; Pamela Stanfield of Chesterfield, Mo., two sons; Hugh H. May, Jr. of Martinez and Kelly W. May of Evans, six grandsons, two granddaughters and two great- grandsons and a sister; Dorothy K. Collier of Fayetteville, Ga. She was also preceded in death by her brother; Jack H. Kelly. Mrs. May was a native of Augusta, graduate of Tubman High School, the Junior College of Augusta and attended Furman University. She was a private Math Tutor for over 30 years and a lifelong member of First Presbyterian church. She enjoyed playing Bridge and was active with classmates of the forties from Tubman High and Academy of Richmond County. If so desired, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
