Eastern Washington coach offered Utah job

SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah has offered Eastern Washington coach Ray Giacoletti the chance to replace Rick Majerus.

Brad Williams, Giacoletti's attorney, told The Associated Press he hoped to have the deal completed by Tuesday evening.

"Ray's been offered the job by Utah and we're just trying to work out the terms," Williams said. "I don't see any problems in the contract."

Utah athletic director Chris Hill did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Majerus, who was hired by Utah in 1989, resigned in January because of health reasons.

Giacoletti led Eastern Washington to its first NCAA tournament appearance this season.
