On the move

  • E-Z-GO Textron announced the following promotions and new organizational structure for its sales and marketing group to improve the relationship between sales, marketing, engineering and manufacturing:
  • Steve Cotton, the director of product management, will be responsible for price-setting and distribution channels for the company's golf and specialty vehicles.

    Jay Cudd, the director of corporate accounts, will work with new and existing customers.

    Mike Parkhurst, the director of U.S. golf sales, will be responsible for all direct and distributor sales for fleet golf cars and specialty vehicles.

    Jon Phillips, the director of international sales, will handle all fleet and specialty sales through the company's six international regions.

    Bill Robson, the vice president of specialty and used sales, will handle domestic specialty vehicle and used car sales.

    Ron Skenes, the manager of marketing and communications, will manage advertising, media planning and industry relations.


  • PHC Weight Loss & Wellness Centers recognized Patricia Hayes, the senior nurse counselor, for 17 years of service. Ms. Hayes joined PHC in 1987 as a counselor/nurse. After several promotions, she now maintains an office at the Bobby Jones location.
  • Savannah River Site honored Elmer Wilhite, a chemist at the Savannah River Technology Center, with the Donald A. Orth Award of Merit for his longstanding research and leadership and pioneering work in low-level waste disposal.
  • Gwen Fulcher Young was guest speaker for Promoting Women in Business at the Business Opportunities for Women seminar for the Alliance for Employee Growth and Development Inc.
  • Dale and Frances Martin, owners of Signs By Tomorrow on River Watch Parkway, recently attended the national meeting of their franchise in Dana Point, Calif. Their store opened in June.
  • The Augusta facility of Pfizer Global Manufacturing has been named Industrial Wastewater Plant of the Year by the Georgia Water and Pollution Control Association. Attending the awards ceremony were plant Director Ian Lakeman, Kevin Hazel, Tony Hood and Dwayne Richardson.
  • Jason Arthur, assistant golf professional, was named West Lake Country Club's Employee of the Month for February.
  • Charlotte Grijalva, of the food and beverage department, was the Employee of the Month for March.

  • Baren K. Talukdar, a registered professional engineer, was honored by the American Concrete Institute with the ACI fellowship during a reception at its spring convention in Washington. He is a senior structural engineer at The Shaw E&I, working on the SRS/MOX Project.
  • Retired E-Z-GO Textron Chairman Emeritus L.T. Walden was recognized by the Association of Private Club Directors and its trade publication, BoardRoom magazine, with its Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the private club industry.
