This is in reference to the care I received at the Uptown Division of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. I was visiting my brother here in Augusta. I decided to see if I could get my hernia repaired while I was here, so my brother took me there.
The surgery took place one week after the exam. The staff at this hospital - from the nurses to all of the doctors who had a role in my care - went above and beyond the call of duty.
Sometimes you read about the negative care veterans receive at some VA facilities. All I can say is they should be as fortunate as I was to be able to be treated at the Uptown Division of the VA hospital.
All of Georgia should be proud of this facility. It would be a shame if they were to decide to close this warm and wonderful hospital. I applaud the staff, and I'm very grateful to them. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart ...
