Mrs. Charlie Granger (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga.- Mrs. Charlie M. Granger, 86 years of age, entered into rest Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at University Hospital. Mrs. Granger lived in the Augusta area for the past 56 years and was retired as a nurses assistant at University Hospital, member of Mize United Methodist Church, the Sunrisers and Women's Missionary group at Mize United Methodist Church and the Bayville HomeMakers Club. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 18, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Elliott Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 2524 Lumpkin Rd. with Rev. C.W. Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Granger was preceded in death by her loving husband, Douglas Donald Granger, Sr., and sons, Douglas D. "Butch" Granger, Jr. and Dale Ray Granger. Survivors include a daughter, Joan S. (Wayne) Smith of Villa Rica, Ga.; sister-in-law, Eleanor M. Granger of Gainesville, Fla.; grandchildren, Kimberly Page, Jeffery Smith, Michelle Kurzon, Douglas Smith; gr eat-grandchildren, Megan Smith, Morgan Kurzon and Lauren Smith; sisters, Jeanette Johnson of Soperton, Ga., Peggy Braswell of Augusta and Lois Powell of North Augusta, S.C. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends this evening, Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m. at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Rd., Augusta, Ga. (706)793-0123.
