Mrs. Rosa Owens (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga.- Mrs. Rosa Lee Owens of Essie McIntrye Blvd., entered into rest Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at the University Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Franklin Covenant Baptist Church with Rev. George Williams and Rev. Beatrice Owens Nunnally officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home this evening, Tuesday, from 6 to 7 p.m. She was a native of Richmond County, Georgia; a member of Franklin Covenant Baptist Church; a member of the Willing Workers Missionary Society in her early years; a long standing member of the Choir; a Deaconess; Church Secretary for many years; a member of Bright & Morning Star, Chapter #4; and the Order of Eastern Star C.E. WIlliams/McIntyre Court #56. Survivors are three daughters, Mattie M. McGuire, Alberta L. Beard, Philadelphia, Pa. and Edna M. Tanksley, Augusta; one brother-in-law, Grady Marshall; daughter-in-law, Anni e Ruth Owens, both of Philadelphia, Pa.; guardian of four grandchildren, Valerie Owens, Beatrice Nunnally, Sylvester Owens, Jr. and David Leroy Owens, all of Philadelphia, Pa.; 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; god son, Darryl Bland; adopted granddaughter, Theresa W.
