Mr. Roger Matthews (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga.-Entered into rest Thursday, March 11, 2004 at his residence. Mr. Roger S. Matthews of Goldfinch Drive. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at 11 a.m. from Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Don A. Darden, Jr., Pastor, Liberty Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening, Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Mr. Matthews served our country with the U.S. Army; he retired from Kaplan Trucking and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Survivors are his loving and devoted wife, Lula M. Matthews; one son, James Matthews, Atlanta, Ga.; four daughters, Sharon (Scotty) Doyle, Charlotte, NC, Susan Archie, Augusta, Ga., Ruthie E. Cable and Sheila Louise Grier, both of Harrisburg, Pa.; three sisters, Thomasine Matthews, Ruth E. Quann and Michelle Arrington; one brother, Tommy S. Kimmer; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two dear and supportive cousins, Mr. A nd Mrs. Frederick Weathers; two special friends, Franklin Phillip (Pete) Burden and James Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
