Employers to keep hiring, survey says

Augusta employers are expected to continue hiring into the second quarter, though at a slower pace than in the first three months of the year, a survey from the world's biggest staffing company said Monday.

Manpower Inc.'s quarterly employment outlook survey said 20 percent of area companies said they planned to hire new employees from April to June, compared with 30 percent in the first three months of the year. During the same time last year, just 17 percent said they were poised to hire.

Local dealerships get service award

Johnson Motor Co. announced that it has placed in the top 75 Cadillac dealerships in the country, receiving the automaker's Standard for Excellence award.

The Cadillac/Buick/GMC/Pontiac/Saab dealership has locations in downtown Augusta and Aiken County. The award is based on customer satisfaction surveys.
