CLEMSON, S.C. -- Clemson is back in the postseason.
The Lady Tigers (17-11) got a bid to the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) on Sunday. They'll take on UNC-Charlotte this Wednesday at Littlejohn Coliseum.
Clemson coach Jim Davis had led the team to 15 straight tournament berths, 14 of those the women's NCAA s, before last year's team ended 14-15 and out of the running for the postseason.
This is the Lady Tigers first WNIT since 1995.
They finished 7-9 in the Atlantic Coast Conference this season and were knocked out of the league tournament in their opening game against North Carolina State.
"We are excited about this opportunity," Davis said. "It is an opportunity for our seniors to extend their careers, and it will be a learning experience for our younger players."
UNC-Charlotte is 16-13 overall and finished 8-6 in Conference USA.
