EDGEFIELD, S.C.- Entered into rest Thursday, February 26, 2004 at Edgefield County Hospital, Sgt. Robert Carroll, Jr., 52, of Rosahill St. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at Simmon Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Aldexandre Williams officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Sgt. Carroll was a native of Saluda County but made his residence in Edgefield County. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He served 28 years with the police department. Survivors include his wife of the home, Lizzie Gilliam Carroll; three sons, James (Regina) Gilliam, Augusta, William (Candy) Gilliam, Johnston, and David Gilliam, Washington; his mother, Emma Carroll, Saluda; two sisters, Clementine (Maxie) Smith, Saluda and Linda (Robert) Gilliard, Hartsville, S.C.; four brothers, John Arthur (Shirley) Coleman, Amarillo, Texas, James (Daisy) Coleman, Floyd (Cheryl) Carroll and Maxie Carroll all of Saluda; four grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Friends may call at the residence of 414 Rosahill Street or after 1 p.m., Monday, March 1, 2004, at the funeral home. There will be no viewing at the church. G.L.
