Georgia Southern falls to The Citadel



CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Dante Terry scored 21 points and hit five of his eight 3-pointers as The Citadel beat Georgia Southern 68-65 on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (6-21, 2-14 Southern Conference) took the lead for good with 18 seconds left when Max Mombollet grabbed one of his game high 10 rebounds and put the ball back in. Terry's then hit two free throws with five seconds left to finish the scoring.

J'Mel Everhart had 16 points and Kevin Hammack added 15 more for The Citadel, who will still be seeded sixth in the South Division in the league tournament despite winning its last two conference games.

Frank Bennett led the Eagles (20-7, 11-5) with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Jean Francois added 14 points.

Despite the loss, Georgia Southern will still be the South Division's top seed at the SoCon tournament.
