Faith digest



Wild-game meal

Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2150 Columbia Highway N. in Aiken, will play host to a guys-only wild-game supper at 6:30 tonight. Luke Lewis of the National Wild Turkey Federation will be the guest speaker.

The menu will offer antelope, elk, moose, rabbit, venison, fried fish and catfish stew.

Benefit supper

More than 30 chefs will cook up the Taste of North Augusta at 7 tonight at North Augusta Community Center, 101 Brookside Drive.

Tickets cost $40, or $300 for a corporate table for eight. The benefit also will offer a silent and a live auction. Proceeds will assist The Center for Care and Counseling, a faith-based agency supported by several churches. For more information or reservations, call 819-9021. 'Passion' talk

Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ will be the topic for two forums in March.

A panel discussion will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Catholic Church of the Most Holy Trinity, 720 Telfair St. For more information, call 722-4944.

An interfaith panel representing Catholic, Jewish and Protestant faiths will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, 3500 Walton Way, Augusta. For more information, call 733-2236.

Lenten services

Lenten fellowships are planned at several Augusta-area churches.

The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 825 Greene St., will serve a soup-and-sandwich lunch after ecumenical services at 12:10 p.m. Wednesdays through March 31. Cost is $3. The Downtown Churches Association is the sponsor. For more information, call 724-8792.

Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 2220 Walton Way, will play host to a Lenten lunch and message series at noon Fridays . For more information, call 738-2546.

Several Aiken-area churches are sponsoring lunch and ecumenical services at noon Wednesdays through March 31 at St. Thaddeus' Episcopal Church, 125 Pendleton St. S.W. Call (803) 648-5497.

Dinosaur party

Bel-Ridge Baptist Church of Belvedere will use computer workstations, DVD presentations and other activities to demonstrate the place of dinosaurs in the Bible and in history. The dinosaur party will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 108 Monterey Ave. Call (803) 279-3366.

Fast to end

Youth at Bayvale Baptist Church, 2240 Bayvale Road, will end a 30-hour fast at 7 tonight. The effort, part of World Vision's 30-Hour Famine, raises awareness of the plight of hungry children and benefits the ministry. Call 733-8128.

Dedication

Urban gospel radio station WKZK-AM (1600) will dedicate its building at 2 Milledge Road at noon Friday. The station was started in 1982. Call 738-9191.

Day of prayer

Church Women United, Augusta unit, will observe World Day of Prayer at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at St. John United Methodist Church, 736 Greene St.
