LAKE PLACID, N.Y. -- Raphael Poiree of France and wife Liv Grete Poiree of Norway kept their leads Friday in the World Cup biathlon standings.
Raphael Poiree came in second place in 27 minutes, 06.00 seconds in the men's 10-kilometer sprint, giving him 742 points. Lars Berger of Norway was first in 26:59.3 despite missing a shot each in the prone and standing positions. Janez Maric of France was third in 27:15.5.
In the women's 7.5K race, Liv Grete Poiree was fourth in 20:49.10 and leads with 731 points.
Olga Pyleva of Russia finished first in 20:19.6, with no misses while shooting, and is second in the standings with 607 points. Finishing behind her Friday were Kati Wilhem of Germany in 20:36.30 and Anna Bogali of Russia in 20:45.2.
The top Americans in each race, Jay Hakkinen and Rachel Steer, finished in 16th place.
