Mr. Donald Nichols (EVANS, Ga.)



EVANS, Ga. - Entered into rest Thursday, January 22, 2004 at his residence, Mr. Donald M. "Don" Nichols, 76, of Evans, Ga. Mr. Nichols is survived by his wife, Ann Toomey Nichols; daughters, Deborah Nichols Tabor, Donna Kay Nichols and son, Daniel Wesley Nichols, all of Evans. Brothers, Benjamin Joel Nichols of Bradenton, Fla. and Jimmie A. Nichols of Evans; sister, Dorothy Deer Ersin of Evans; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mr. Nichols was a native of Columbia County, a member of Warren Baptist Church, served in the US Navy 1948 until 1952. He retired after 33 years with E.I. Dupont at the Savannah River Site. He was a 1944 graduate of The Academy of Richmond County and a graduate of the Columbia Bible College. Mr. Nichols was a ordained Baptist Minister, he served at the Crawford Ave. Baptist Church and served as Music Minister at Abilene Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion Post # 192, Martinez M asonic Lodge F & AM and the Martinez Community Club where he served as VP and Chaplain. Memorial services will be held Sunday, January 25, 2004 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Terry Doss officiating assisted by Mr. Cecil Holloway. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Following the service the family invites everyone to the American-Legion Post, on Legion Dr. off of Owens Rd. in Evans for refreshments.
