Mr. Melvin Kaney (MODOC, S.C.)



MODOC, S.C.- Entered into rest on Thursday, January 22, 2004, Mr. Melvin Wilber Kaney, husband of Mrs. Pluma Waters Kaney. Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter and her husband, Wanda and Art Donohue, Wrens, Ga.; a sister, Pauline Finney, Aiken, S.C.; a sister and her husband, Annette and Bernard Meyer, Langley, S.C.; two brothers and their wives, David and Ann Kaney, Langley, S.C., Louis "Butch" and Mary Kaney, Gloverville, S.C.; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Kaney was born in Langley, S.C. to the late Melvin and Mary Davis Kaney. He was a WW II Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a truck driver. He was preceded in death by three brothers, William Thomas, Robert, and Jack Kaney. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Branch officiating. Interment in Langley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Smith, Robert Donohue, Gregory Jef fs, David Kaney, Thomas Meyer, and Tim Wright. Friends may call at the residence of his sister, 120 Pelzer St., Langley, S.C. or on Sunday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hatcher Funeral Home, U.S. Hwy. 1, Langley, S.C.
