Mr. Gilbert Sexton (TRENTON, S.C.)



TRENTON, S.C.- Mr. Gilbert (Gil) Arnold Sexton, 70, East Wise St., died Thursday, January 22, 2004 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2004 at Trenton United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Rodgers officiating with burial in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. Mr. Sexton was a native of Lincoln, Neb. and was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from the Edgefield County Tax Assessor's office and was retired from the Trenton Fire Dept. He was a member of the Trenton Development Board and a member of the American Legion Post # 30. He was a member of Trenton United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Betty Huiet Sexton; two sons and their wives, Keith and Rose Ann Sexton, Trenton and Richard and Karen Sexton, Ninety Six; six grandchildren, Joey and (Jennifer), Jennifer and (Blake), Beth, Samantha, Kaylia and Diana; two great-granddaughters; three sisters, Maxine Tavo rsky, Jenette Allsman Patricia Hollibaugh, all of Lincoln, Neb.; one brother, Lloyd Sexton, Lincoln, Neb. Memorials may be made to Trenton United Methodist Church Building Repair Fund, 119 East Wise St., Trenton, S.C. 29847. The family is at the home of Helen Carpenter, West Wise St., Trenton, and will receive friends, Friday, January 23, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
