Pony-powered parade

The annual Augusta Futurity Horse and Carriage parade will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday in downtown Augusta. The processional begins on Broad Street at Fifth Street, continues west on Broad Street to 12th Street, then turns east on Broad Street, then right on Seventh Street, ending at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center. Piano Man

Jazz pianist George Winston will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at West Acres Baptist Church, 555 Gibbs Road in Evans. Tickets cost $20, and the proceeds benefit the Golden Harvest Food Bank. For more information, contact Laurie Harmon at 736-1199, ext. 208.

Tuesday's Music Live

The Blanche Coleman Memorial concert will feature soloists from the Augusta Opera, including Diane Alexander. The concert begins at noon at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 605 Reynolds St. Admission is free. A lunch, catered by Pullman Hall, follows the performance. Lunch is $7, and reservations are required.
