AUGUSTA, Ga. - SPC Nathaniel Henry Johnson, 22, of Quist Drive, entered into rest Thursday, January 8, 2004 in Iraq. Funeral service will be held Friday, January 16, 2004 at 1 p.m. at City of Refuge Christian Learning Center, Hephzibah with Bishop Sullivan Bush, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery with full military honors. SPC Johnson, a native of Augusta, was a member of City of Refuge Christian Learning Center. After graduating from Glenn Hills High School in 2001, he entered the U.S. Army. Survivors are his parents, Felix and Phyllis Johnson, Augusta; three sisters, Tiffiney (Randy) Williams, Augusta, NaTasha Dupree, Manning, S.C., Rita Cox, New Jersey; one brother, David Dupree, Manning, S.C.; maternal grandfather, Murphy Ponder, Wadley; maternal great-grandmother, Jessie Smith, Walstonburg, N.C.; one uncle, Michael (Sylvia) Monroe; four aunts, Barbara (Rogers) Smith, New York, Abbye (Van) Smith, Columbia, S.C., Norliss (Gerald) Soloman, Hephzibah, Britta Johnson, Augusta; and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
