Mrs. Teru Lewellen (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga.- Mrs. Teru Lewellen, age 74, of Augusta, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at University Hospital. A native of Tohokuku, Japan, she had resided in the Augusta area since her husband's assignment to Fort Gordon in 1969. Mrs. Lewellen had been a member of the S.G.I. International Buddhist Peace Organization since joining in Panama in 1964, in which she was an active women's division member and supporter of the Youth Division. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Donald Lewellen, Augusta, Ga.; their daughter, Janet M. Lewellen Story, Evans, Ga; and their son, William E. Lewellen, Augusta, Ga. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m., on Sunday, January 18, 2004 in the Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road with Mr. Donald Pottorff and Mr. Doug Law officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.
