Mrs. Lucretia Cartee (GREENWOOD, S.C.)



GREENWOOD, S.C.- Lucretia Denson Cartee, 97, of 322 Calhoun Rd., Greenwood, died January 13, 2004 at Jesse Frank Hawkins Nuring Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2004 at First Baptist Church of Ninety-Six with Rev. Joseph Ouzts and Rev. Steve Justice. Burial in Phillips Mill Baptist Church Cemetery, Washington, Ga. Mrs. Cartee was born in Albany, Ga. She retired from the grocery business and was a member of Phillips Mill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late John Ben Cartee, Sr. and her parents, the late Daniel William and Oliver Jay Denson. She is survived by three sons, John Ben Cartee, Jr., Danielville, Ga., Terry Lee Cartee, Blue Ridge, Ga. and Rev. Ira O. Cartee, Aurora, Mo.; one daughter, Dianne Cartee Langley, Ninety-Six, S.C.; and one sister, Elvera Mixon, Perry, Fla.; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Gary Adkins, Charles Davis, Kelvin Wheless, Michael Cartee, Tim Cartee, and Jeff Dominick. Honorary pallbearers are great-grandsons.
