New year, new month.
New babies, new names.
The Wall Street Journal recently searched Social Security databases and found that many people are naming their children after luxury consumer products.
Some examples for girls include: Lexus, Armani, Infiniti and Loreal. Armani also is popular for boys, as are Cartier, Dior, Timberland and Guinness.
Closer to home, the Associated Press reports that the most popular names in South Carolina are a little more conventional.
For newborn girls, the most common were Madison, Hannah, Emily, Taylor and Anna. For guys: Jacob, James, Joshua and Matthew.
And the most popular baby boy name, according to the Department of Health and Environmental Control?
I say the classics never go out of style, do they?
