America: Liberating Iraq, exploring Mars

Congratulations and attaboys all around to National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory folks in Pasadena, Calif., on the brilliant success of the Mars Spirit mission. This is truly amazing science in our lifetime.

It makes me really proud to be a citizen of a country that was able to pull that off. It's the same country that said "enough," then rolled up its sleeves and relieved an entire nation of a murdering thug and his regime - a man who had ignored the world for over a decade. And we did it in three weeks - a year after we rousted the Taliban...

America and a few of its friends stepped up to the plate a few years ago and, in front of the whole world, took the war on terror to the other side's house.

Meanwhile, here at home you can't really even tell there's a war on. And we're exploring the Red Planet. Cool. Is this a great country or what?
