Mrs. Celeste Griffin (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday, December 15, 2003, Mrs. Celeste Craig Griffin, 84, wife of the late Norman Walter Griffin, Sr. and daughter of the late Samuel Roland Craig and Sally Akin Craig. Private graveside services will be Wednesday at Westover Memorial Park with Dr. Rodger Murchison and Dr. David Fleming officiating. The family will receive friends today (Tuesday) from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Griffin was a native and life long resident of Augusta and a member of Warren Baptist Church. She attended Tubman High School and was a caregiver and housewife to her husband, children and grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter, Mary Griffin Marshall and her husband Robert Paul Marshall of Richland, Wash.; two sons Norman Walter Griffin, Jr. and his wife, Sandra Hanson Griffin of Augusta and William Craig Griffin and his wife Joyce Clark Griffin of Pembroke; six grandchildren, Robert Paul Marshall, Jr., John Andrew Marshall, Lisa Griffin Arnold, Dr. David Walter Griffin, William Craig Griffin and Barbara Griffin; and ten great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Richard Z. Craig of Augusta and many nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Warren Baptist Church, 3203 Washington Road, Augusta, 30907.
