Mr. Watson Mitchell (HEPHZIBAH, Ga.)



HEPHZIBAH, Ga.- Mr. Watson E. (Tom) Mitchell, 72, of Hephzibah, died Friday, December 12, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta. Mr. Mitchell was a native of Fulton County, Ga. and Twin City, Ga. and had lived most of his adult life in Richmond County. He was formerly employed at Savannah River Plant where he retired from in 1986. He was owner-operator of Watson Mitchell Home Builders and was a Methodist. Mr. Mitchell served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Metro-Augusta Home Builders Association and the Hen Peck Club of Hephzibah. He is survived by his wife, Ophelia Quick Mitchell, of Hephzibah; a daughter and son-in-law, Jill M. Mehrhof and Clay I. Mehrhof of Augusta; two grandsons, Thomas R. Mehrhof and Clay I. Mehrhof, Jr., of Augusta; several nieces and nephews and a very loving family. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15, 2003 at 2 p.m. at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel in Hephzibah with Reverends Leonard Qu ick, Terry Quick, Franklin Thigpen, officiating. Burial will be in Twin City Cemetery, Twin City. Active pallbearers will be Tobe Paschal, Grady Jones, Jess Drew, Bob Banks, Jerry Corley, Notty Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Cawthorn, Kenny Smith, James Kyle, Gerald Woodell, Johnny Weaver, Olin Cowart, and Lula Kanardy.
