Miss Milbra McGahee (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga.- Miss Milbra M. McGahee, age 98, entered into rest Thursday, December 11, 2003 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday December 15, 2003 at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jeffrey Newlin and Dr. G. Daniel McCall officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Miss McGahee was a native and lifelong resident of the Augusta area. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia, Athens, and was a retired schoolteacher having taught at Woodlawn Elem. School and the Academy of Richmond County for over forty years. She was the first female teacher at ARC and the first President of the Richmond County Retired Educators Association. Miss McGahee was a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Matthews-Covenant Sunday School Class. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Martha McGahee of Augusta; two great-nieces, Beth M. Heath, Augusta and Tara M. Whitaker, Jesup; two great-nephews, Paul E. Mc Gahee, Tifton, and Ollie O. McGahee, III, Odum, Ga. Pallbearers will be A.L. Williams, Hugh McCutcheon, Preston Sizemore, E.E. Neely, Charles Spaduzzi, Fred Davison, Jim Davis, and Ollie McGahee, III. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Matthews-Covenant Sunday School Class of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 2261 Walton Way, Augusta, Ga. 30904.
