Mr. Thomas Horner Sr. (MARTINEZ, Ga.)



MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. Thomas Wilson Horner, Sr., age 76, of Martinez, entered into rest on Monday morning, December 1, 2003 at the home of his daughter in Augusta. A native of Acme, Pa., he had resided in the Augusta area since moving from Ft. Myers, Fla. approximately 10 years ago. Mr. Horner had retired from the Robert R. Reynolds Co., of Tuscaloosa, Ala. as a Superintendent, having worked in Industrial Construction throughout the United States. He was a WW II, U.S. Naval Veteran, a member of the Carpenter's Local 2774, Pittsburgh, Pa., was a Methodist by faith and had attended Marvin United Methodist Church, Martinez. He is the son of the late, Joseph P. and Edith P. Horner of Connellsville, Pa. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Kindberg, who passed away on July 12, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy E. Horner, Martinez; two sons, Thomas Wilson Horner, Jr., Connecticut, Terry Horner, Pa.; two dau ghters, Peggy McClintock, Dr. Pamela Horner, both of Augusta; a son-in-law, Timothy Kindberg, Martinez; ten grandchildren, Daniel Phillips, Martinez, David Phillips, North Carolina, Gillian Mothershead, Maryland, Jeffrey Robertson, Stefani Robertson, both of Texas, Timothy Kindberg, Amber Kindberg, both of Martinez, Thomas Wilson Horner, III, Christine Horner, Rebecca Horner, all of Maine; and four great grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 6, 2003 in the Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, with Chaplain Neil Breland, officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904.
