Miss S. Minier Padgette (AIKEN, S.C.)



AIKEN, S.C. - Miss Sarah Minier Padgette, 94, of 3525 Augustus Rd., Aiken, died Saturday, November 29, 2003 at Pepper Hill Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 1, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev.s Sheila D. Rogers and Samuel E. Marcengill officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in the Travis Park Cemetery, Saluda, SC. A native of Saluda County, Miss Padgette was a graduate of Lander College and Columbia Hospital School of Nursing. After graduating from nursing school and receiving her RN degree, she taught at the nursing school for 25 years. She did graduate studies in nursing at Columbia University in New York City. She endowed the Minier Padgette Nursing Scholarship at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Miss Padgette was always interested in the education and well being of other young people. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Aiken and a former member of Washington St. United Methodist Church in Columbia. She is survived by cousins. Memorials may be made to St. Johns United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 809, Aiken, S.C. 29802.
