Tree to be sold

Young Life will be selling wreaths, bows and Fraser firs from North Carolina through Dec. 14, or until they are sold out, in front of Publix, 403 Furys Ferry Road in Martinez.

Lot hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 4 to 8 p.m. weekdays.

Proceeds will benefit the Augusta Young Life high school ministry. For more information, call 733-2507.

'Scrooge' coming

Scrooge will be performed at 7 p.m. Thursday through Dec. 7, with a performance at 3 p.m. Dec. 6, at Stevens Creek Community Church, 600 Stevens Creek Road.

Israeli art

Israeli artist Bar Kocva will display his work and that of fellow Israeli artists at a preview party 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Augusta Jewish Community Center, 898 Weinberger Way in Evans.

Items will be exhibited from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 7, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 8.

A holiday dinner for the homeless will be held at First Baptist Church, 625 Georgia Ave., North Augusta.

'John' movie

The Gospel of John, a three-hour word-by-word film adaptation of the Gospel of John, will open Friday at the Augusta Exchange.

Henry Ian Cusick of the Royal Shakespeare Company portrays Jesus and Christopher Plummer narrates the film, which is based on the American Bible Society of New York's Good News Translation Bible.
