Thrashers center Marc Savard suspended one game



TORONTO -- Atlanta Thrashers center Marc Savard was suspended one game by the NHL for biting the glove of Toronto Maple Leafs winger Darcy Tucker.

Savard will lose $11,111.11 of his salary and will miss Saturday's game against Tampa Bay.

Savard was ejected after he bit Tucker's glove during a scuffle early in the third period of Toronto's 3-1 win over Atlanta on Thursday. Savard was given a penalty for attempt to injure.
