Mr. Clifford Richards, Sr. (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga.- Entered into rest, Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at University Hospital, Mr. Clifford E. Richards, Sr. 75, husband of Mary Ann Price Richards to whom he was married to for 54 years. Additional family members include his children and their spouses, Sharon Richards Attaway and husband, Tommy, Clifford Eugene Richards, Jr., John Patrick and wife, Michelle Richards, Phillip Daniel and wife, Connie Richards, Cindy Richards Hall and husband, Barry, Thomas Paul Richards, Timothy Joseph Richards and wife, Deborah, James Michael Richards and wife, Dana, Mary Lynn Richards Logan and husband, Lance, David Walter Richards and wife, Kim; twenty-seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Catherine Collins, Jane Maddox, Billie Sikes, and Betty Fulmer. Mr. Richards retired as owner of Richards Body Works July 30, 1993. A native of Augusta, he was the son of the late Eugene and Maxey Richards and a member of St. Mary- on-the-Hill Catholic Church. He was a 1947 graduate of Boys Catholic High. Mr. Richards touched so many peoples lives through his kindness, generosity, and loyalty. He was a family man who raised his children and grandchildren with values that were dear to his heart. He was known by many as "Smiley" because of his constant smile and love of life. He will be greatly missed. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1 Corporate Square, Suite 127, Atlanta, Ga., 30329. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, November 29, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary-on-the-Hill Catholic Church. A vigil for the deceased will be held Friday evening at 6 p.m. and the family will receive friends following the vigil until 9 p.m. at Thomas Poteet and Son.
