AIKEN, S.C.- Miss Jane Theresa Woodward, 94, of Aiken, died on September 28, 2003. She was appointed head teacher and then principal of Aikens Millbrook Elementary School on Pine Log Road when it was established in 1954 and retired in 1974 at the age of 65. He helped to construct this lovely church, built the pews and the pulpit still used in the original church. She served as organist at Millbrook for 35 years. The organ in the present church is named in her honor. Miss Woodward is survived by a nephew, Ted Woodward of Melbourne, Fla.; two nieces, Jane Woodward Truett of Hartsville and Kathryn Woodward Harper of Marietta, Ga.; great nieces and nephews; one great-great nephew, cousin Robert Cain of Aiken, and her companion of 14 years, Ms. Brenda Crider.
