Mr. James Epps (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga.- Mr. James P. "Jimmy" Epps, 58, of Sheffield Circle, Augusta, beloved husband of Mrs. Kathy "Kat" Epps, entered into rest on Saturday, September 13, 2003 at Select Speciality Hospital. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Saint Marys on the Hill Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerald Ragan officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. A native of Macon, Ga., Mr. Epps was a member of St. Marys on the Hill Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was an Air Force Veteran serving in Vietnam. Mr. Epps was a retired Advance System Manager for BellSouth after 39 years of service. He was a member of the BellSouth Pioneers, Knights of Columbus, The Richmond Academy Booster Club, and past President of Westside High School Booster Club. Additional survivors include his mother, Marjorie N. Epps, of Macon; a son and daughter-in-law, Jamie L. Epps and Jessica Wilson of Augusta; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra A. Epps and Michael Russell of Augusta; four brothers, Bill Epps of Cincinnati, OH., John Epps, Rick Epps, and Bobby Epps, all of Macon. Active pallbearers will be Gene Cooper, James Smith, George Paradise, Ed Heath, Jim Bussey, Randall Thorne, Craig Smith, Mike Lollis, Dan Kestner, Stan Turner, Lee Tucker, and Randy Fladers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Richmond Academy Baseball Program, 910 Russell St., Augusta, Ga. 30904. The vigil service for the deceased will be prayed at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
