Mrs. Lucille Byrd (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Nellie Lucille Byrd, entered into rest Saturday, September 13, 2003, at her residence. She was the widow of Mr. John C. Byrd. She was also preceded in death by a son, Frankie Short and great-grandchild, Jaylee Broome. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 15, 2003, at 1 p.m., at the Poteet Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Rev. Nevil Smith, Rev. Eddie Corne and Rev. Wildean Myers officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jason Broome, John Pope, Charles Pope, Tony Pope, Ronnie Carver, Shaun Carver, Jonathan Broome and C.J. Oglesby. Survivors are one son, David E. Carver; two daughters, Lynne Broome and her husband, Jeff and Teresa A. Howard and her husband, Tommy; three sisters, Dorothy Deaver, Brenda Dinkins and Helen Morris; five brothers, Jimmy Carver, J.C. Carver, Lonnie Carver, Louis Carver and Wyman Carver; eight grandchildren, John Pope, Charles Pope, Tony Pope, Jason Broome, Sara Broome, Jonathan Broome, Amanda Howard and Alissa Howard; four great-grandchildren and her fiancee, Thomas P. OGrady. Mrs. Byrd was born in St. Marys, Ga., a homemaker and a member of New Horizon Church of God.
