Mrs. Mary Andrews (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Purvis Andrews, age 81, beloved wife of James J. Andrews, Sr., of 62 years, entered into rest on Thursday, September 11, 2003, at Westwood Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2003, at 11 a.m., at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Newlin and Rev. Dr. G. Daniel McCall officiating. Interment will be in Westover Memorial Park. Mrs. Mary Andrews was born in Thomson and lived in Augusta the past 67 years. She worked as a legal secretary for a local law firm before retiring and becoming a full time homemaker, wife and mother. She was an avid china painter and won numerous awards for her artwork and was a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two sons, David C. Andrews of Evans, James J. Andrews Jr., of Duluth; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Brooks, Frank Holroyd, Donald Gannon, Newt Goldman, Troy Palmer, William Davis.
