Program offers prostate screenings

University Hospital and Lowe's Home Improvement Stores are teaming up to fight prostate cancer.

Through the end of August, free prostate screenings will be available at various Lowe's locations. Health workers will give the simple blood test, which can then be followed with a more detailed exam at your doctor's office.

Screenings will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at Lowe's on Bobby Jones Expressway, Aug. 16 at Lowe's in Aiken, Aug. 23 at Lowe's on Bobby Jones Expressway and Aug. 29 at Lowe's on Windsor Spring Road.

Keeping Time: New Music From America's Roots airs at 7:30 Thursday on the digital cable Sundance Channel. The roots of traditional American music are traced in this four-part series. Its influence on a young generation is also explored. Among the performers: Gillian Welch, Nickel Creek and Robert Randolph.
