Mrs. Esther Thompson (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Esther Williams Thompson, formerly of Vidette, entered into rest Monday, June 30, 2003, at the Georgia War Veterans Home, Augusta. Mrs. Thompson was born in Florida, the daughter of Thomas and Mamie Walden Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Thompson Sr. and her son, Leonard Thompson Jr. She had retired as a Medical Lab Technician working in the New England states. Mrs. Thompson was a veteran of the Womens Army Corp., US Army serving in World War II, 1944 thru 1946. She was a Methodist and member of the Vidette United Methodist Church, Vidette. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Pamela Thompson of Alpharetta; two grandchildren, Kimberly Thompson Miklis and Kevin Thompson; two nieces locally, Hilda W. Musgrove and Ester W. Boggs; and a nephew, G. Frank Williams Jr. Mrs. Thompson was also survived by a sister-in-law that she really considered as a sister, Marie G. Williams. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3, 2003, at 2 p.m. Rose Dhu Cemetery, Vidette with Dr. Tip Carroll officiating.
