Mrs. Eddie Roundtree (PLUM BRANCH, S.C.)



PLUM BRANCH, S.C. - Mrs. Eddie Mae Roundtree, 76, of Gilchrist Road in Plum Branch, wife of Joel Roundtree, died Friday, June 27, 2003, at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. She was born in Edgefield County, the daughter of the late Sam and Mary Eliza Price Gilchrist. She received her education in the public schools of Edgefield and Richland Counties. She was a member of Flint Hill Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her husband of the home, she is survived by two brothers, Thomas Gilchrist and John Henry Gilchrist Sr. of McCormick; five sisters, Juanita Coates, McCormick, Pauline Johnson, Temple Hills, Md., Callie Brown, Indian Head, Md., Maggie Gordon, Edgefield and Geneva Herring of McCormick. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at 3 p.m. at Flint Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend John R. Brightharp officiating, Reverend Henry Merriwheather presiding, assisted by Rev. William H. Booker, Rev. Sloan Gordon, Rev. E. L. Cain, and Rev. Ernest Gordon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews and flowerbearers will be nieces. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 1, 2003, 7 to 8 p.m. Parks Funeral Home, Greenwood, S.C. in charge of the service.
