Mrs. Dorothea Keen (DUBLIN, Ga.)



DUBLIN, Ga. - Mrs. Dorothea Harden Keen, 80, of Dublin died June 30, 2003 at New Horizons Personal Care Home. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Timothy Harden and Elizabeth Stubbs Harden. Mrs. Keen attended Mercer University and received her degree from Wesleyan College in 1943. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She was a member of Dublin First Baptist Church where she taught Childrens Sunday School Classes for many years. She was also a member of Hope Chavous Sunday School Class, and is preceded in death by her husband, James Lemuel Keen. Survivors include, one son, James Lemuel Keen, Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Sula K. Altman of Savannah, and Elizabeth (Betsy) K. Polhill of Louisville; sister, Rosalyn Harden of Macon; brother, Dr. Timothy Harden Jr. of Stockbridge, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at First Baptist Church, Dublin, with Rev. Wally Weaver and Rev. Cliff Morris officiating. Interment in Northview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 405 Bellevue Avenue, Dublin, GA 31021, in memory of Mrs. Keen.
