Mr. Jack Greenway (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Jack Z. Greenway, 71, of Cherokee Road, husband of 50 years to Mrs. Eleanor Maryott Greenway, entered into rest on Sunday, June 29, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Columbia Road Chapel, on Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Terry Phillips from St. John United Methodist Church officiating. Additional survivors include three sons, Paul H. Greenway, Martinez, Wayne Z. Greenway and Jack G. Greenway, both of Augusta; two stepsons, Alfred C. Brown, Encinitas, Calif. and Philip N. Brown, Lawrenceville; six grandchildren, Phil Brown, Krissy Doyle, Michael Brown, Brittany Brown, Paul Greenway Jr. and Margaret Greenway; and one great-granddaughter, Claire Brown; one brother and two sisters preceded Mr. Greenway in death. Born in Bartow, Mr. Greenway worked as a printer for Lily Tulip/Sweetheart Cup Manufacturing Co. and retired after 44 years. He had 30 years of service as a baseball, football and basketball official for the Georgia High School Association and was inducted into the USSSA Georgia Hall Of Fame in 1998. Mr. Greenway served as president and was active with T. Harry Garrett Elementary School PTA and Tutt Middle School PTA. For many years he was active on area bowling leagues.
