Dr. Beatrice Chambers (THE FOUR SEASONS, Ind.)

THE FOUR SEASONS, Ind. - Dr. B. Beatrice Chambers of Lakes of the Four Seasons (LOFS), Indiana, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2003, at the age of 60 at St. Anthonys Hospice. Dr. Chambers, originally of Augusta, Georgia, received a bachelors degree at Augusta State College and a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry at the University of South Carolina. She taught biochemistry at the Northwest Center for Medical Education and the South Bend Center for Medical Education, Indiana University School of Medicine, and Purdue University Calumet. She served on the property owners association board of directors, LOFS for four years, two of them as president. She was also president of the House and Garden Club and chairperson of the Covenants Revision Committee, LOFS. She was a member of the String-Along Quilt Guild and Persian Pickles. She was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church. Dr. Chambers is survived by her husband, Dr. W. Marshall Anderson, of LOFS; a brother, Barton P. Chambers of Pensacola, Ga.; a daughter, Sharon Bowles and her husband, Kevin and grandson, Richard; and a son, F. Walton Guthrie and his wife, Mischelle and grandsons, Ian and Harlan, all of Augusta. A memorial mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 2, 2003, 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph V. Murphy officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 9:30 to 11 a.m. (time of services) In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the American Cancer Society in Dr. Chambers name.
