Mr. Wayne Cooper (WAYNESBORO, Ga.)



WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Robert Wayne Cooper Sr. 63, of Waynesboro, Georgia entered into rest today Thursday June 19, 2003, at the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, S.C. Mr. Cooper was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County, the son of the late Tom and Marie Cooper and loving husband of Martha G. Cooper. Wayne was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, and a member of the Waynesboro Exchange Club. He was a former employee of Goldberg Furniture Co, Waynesboro, and was the Store Manager of Helig Meyers Furniture, Waynesboro until its closing. Mr. Cooper was presently employed by the First National Bank, Waynesboro, as a very , very special teller. Survivors include his wife, Martha G. Cooper, Waynesboro, two sons Robert Wayne Cooper, Jr., Augusta, and Johnny Cooper, Athens, Ga. , two daughter in laws, Patricia Cooper-Fincher and Venessa Cooper, Stepmother Carole Cooper, Waynesboro, two brothers Tom Cooper , Millen and David Cooper , Waynesboro, two sisters Sheila Long, Hephzibah, and Linda Jenkins, Waynesboro, and three grandchildren, Derek and Dallas Cooper and Roy Hitzeman Wayne was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who loved his family very much. He always wanted peace and happiness for everyone. "Waynes heart was bigger than his body" Memorial services will be held Saturday , June 21, 2003, at 11 a.m., First Baptist Church Waynesboro, with Dr. G. Al Wright officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church fellowship hall.
