Mrs. Virginia Britton (GROVETOWN, Ga.)



GROVETOWN, Ga. - Mrs. Virginia C. Britton, 91, entered into rest Thursday, June 19, 2003. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Platts Belair Road Chapel with Rev. Jack Chandler and Rev. Bryan Cockrell officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Britton was a native of Harlem. She was a homemaker and the oldest surviving member of Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, the late James Snow Britton. Survivors include her daughter, Augusta florist, Mrs. Louise B. Weathers and son-in-law, Mr. Clifton S. Weathers of Grovetown; two grandchildren, Mrs. Jumelle W. Daniel and her husband, Mikell Daniel, Watkinsville; and Mr. Robert W. Weathers and his wife Pamela Weathers, Grovetown; five great- grandchildren, Britton Daniel, Rachel Daniel, Jessica Radford, Christina Radford and Jimmy Radford, and two great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Allen Dean, Ray Sherman, Isaiah Daniels, Roscoe Wells, Jim Adams and Robert Allgood. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday evening and from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the funeral. Platts Funeral Home 337 N.
