Mr. Lawrence White (ANDERSON, S.C.)



ANDERSON, S.C. - Lawrence Edward White, 83, of Club Point, previously of Plum Branch, died Tuesday May 27, 2003 at Anderson Memorial Hospital. Born August 14, 1919 he was the son of the late Dewey R. and Nettie Bush White of Plum Branch. He was a retired homebuilder and a Purple Heart WW II veteran. He was a member of Plum Branch Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Rickey Christian and Charlene Dryden, both of Anderson; two stepdaughters, Lynn Sanders, North Augusta, and Debra Grear, of Augusta, Ga.; one stepson, Steve Willingham of North Augusta; three sisters, Betty Faye Wells and Berdie Crawford of Plum Branch, and Helen Ramsey of Appling, Ga.; one brother, Dewey C. White, Aiken; six granddaughters, one grandson, four great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, five step granddaughters, six step grandsons, and one step great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Myrtle Wiley White and Kate Smith White; one son, Fred Keown White and one sister, Celeste Hanson. Funeral services will be at Plum Branch Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Friday. The remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family visitation will follow services at the social hall of Plum Branch Baptist Church. The family is at the home of daughter Charlene Dryden, 115 Club Point, Anderson.
