Ms. Annie Harmon (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Saturday, May 24, 2003 at Doctors Hospital, Ms. Annie Ruth Harmon of Starnes Street. Ms. Harmon was a native of Richmond County and a member of Greater St. John Baptist Church for over fifty years where she served as church clerk, Deaconess, Choir, Food Bank Coordinator. A loving mother, grandmother, friend and outgoing well known face throughout the community, Ms. Harmon received the Golden Deed Award from the Exchange Club in 1985, and was on the advisory board of the West End Community Center and an American Red Cross Volunteer. Survivors include four sons, Rev. John (Sylvia) Harmon, Mr. James (Maxine) Harmon, Mr. Andrew (Elizabeth) Harmon, Samuel (Melvine) Harmon; three daughters, Mrs. Alpha (Rickey) Williams, Mrs. Patricia (Gregory) Hillary, Ms. Peggy Harmon; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 30, 2003 at 1 p.m. from Paine College Gilbert Lambuth Chapel, Rev. Melvin Ivey officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The remains will lie in state on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Greater St. John Baptist Church, 1936 Ellis Street. Friends may call at the residence or the funeral home.
