Mrs. Mabel Parrish (COLUMBIA, S.C.)



COLUMBIA, S.C. - Mrs. Mabel Parrish, age 93, widow of William Parrish, died Monday, May 26, 2003, in Columbia. Born in Metter, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Pinnie Edenfield. Mrs. Parrish was a member of Woodfield Baptist Church and had been a member of Fleming Christian Church in Augusta for 30 years where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir. She worked at the Sibley Mill in Augusta for 30 years. Survivors include her daughter, Mabelline Johnson and her husband, Harry Johnson of Columbia; a stepson, Ronald Edward Parrish and wife, Frances of Augusta; three granddaughters; one grandson; four great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Tommy Edenfield of Hephzibah, Johnny Edenfield of Belvedere and Grady Edenfield of Mapelton, Utah. She is preceded in death by one infant daughter, Nell Mixons; grandson, Ronald Parrish; sister, Leona Grubbs; five brothers, Fred, Frank, Alex, Orlander and Melvin Edenfield. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2003, at 2 p.m., from Fleming Christian Church with Rev. Marshall Bender and Rev. Gary Boyd officiating. She will lie in state one hour prior to service time. Interment will be held at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, May 28, 2003.
