BOY

MICHAEL GREEN

Richmond Academy golf

YEAR: Sophomore

HIGHLIGHTS: Shooting 4-under-par 68, Green helped lead the Musketeers to their first Class AAA state golf title. In the process, he beat Savannah Christian's Brian Harman, one of the top players in the country, and repeated as the championships' individual medalist.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING: "For Mike to outdo Brian Harman is tremendous. The whole team was confident coming in, though. They believed they could win it." - Coach Gene Crislip

GIRL

YEAR: Junior

POSITION: High jumper

HIGHLIGHTS: Jackson won the first individual track and field title in school history, jumping a height of 5 feet, 4 inches to win the Class AAA high jump championship. With the help of the 10 points she earned for the Lady Patriots, Westside finished in a tie for 12th at the meet.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING: "She came in and had lot of talent. She's really grown and matured a great deal this season. When she went to the state title meet, all that hard work and dedication paid off." - Coach Patrick Martin
