Mr. William Harvey (AIKEN, S.C.)



AIKEN, S.C. - Entered into rest on Friday, March 28, 2003, Mr. William H. "Bill" Harvey, 70, husband of Betty D. Harvey of Summerwood Way, Aiken. Other survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Anita Harvey, Aiken and one grandchild, Holley Nicole Harvey of Aiken. Mr. Harvey was born in Holley Hill and was the son of the late Harry and Essie Brown Harvey. He was a retired First Sergeant with the S.C. Highway Patrol, where he served for 35 years. He was a certified drivers license examiner and a certified school bus driving instructor. He was a member of Clearwater Baptist Church and the Bath Masonic Lodge No. 263. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m., in Millbrook Baptist Church with Rev. Roland Smith and Rev. Eddie Grant officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Bradley, Julian Thigpen, Don Gibson, Morgan Stringfield, Mike Hess, Chuck Harvell, Bill Cobb and David Perry. Honorary pallbearers will be retired and active members of the S.C. Highway Patrol and other law enforcement divisions. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, 115 Greenville Street, Aiken, SC 29801 or to the American Diabetes Association, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Columbia, SC 29204.
