Mrs. Minnie James-Thompson (CAMDEN, S.C.)



CAMDEN, S.C. - Mrs. Minnie James-Thompson entered into rest March 13, 2003, at Kershaw County Medical Center. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2003, at Gaines Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie R. Jackson. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mrs. James-Thompson, a native of Camden was a faithful member of Gaines Baptist Church where she served in the choir, the missionary society, president of the usher board, mother of the church and the pastors support team. Survivors include two daughters, Hattie Robinson, Camden, Easter Stover, Temple Hill, Md.; five sons, John P. (Diane) James, Washington, D.C., Albert M. (Dorothy) James, Augusta, Freddie (Mary) James, St. Stephen, S.C., Isaac (Virginia) James and Willie (Diane) James, Camden; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two step-daughters, Mable (Tom) Gill, Camden, Elizabeth Bervard, New Haven, Conn.; three step-sons, James (Mary) Thompson, Shaker Heights, Ohio, Willie Thompson, El Paso, John (Hattie) Thompson, Bronx; 23 step-grandchildren; 25 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren. Hailes Funeral Home, Camden was in charge of arrangements. G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary, 614 West Avenue, North Augusta is in charge of local arrangements.
