Mrs. Betty Bowers (EVANS, Ga.)



EVANS, Ga. - Mrs. Betty Bowers, entered into rest Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at the University Hospital. A memorial service will be held today, Friday, March 14, 2003, at 3 p.m., in the Georgia Room at Brandon Wilde. Interment will be in Chattanooga, Tenn. at a later date. Mrs. Bowers was a native of Hamilton County, Tenn. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church and was a retired school teacher. Survivors include her four sons, Cliff Bowers Jr., Martinez, Rick Bowers, Clarks Hill, S.C., John Bowers, Washington, D.C. and David Bowers, Knoxville, Tenn.; her daughter, Betsy Head, Birmingham, Ala.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on the Sun Porch at Brandon Wilde following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund at St. John United Methodist Church, 736 Greene Street, Augusta, GA 30901 or to the Brandon Wilde Endowment of ones choice.
