ATHENS, Ga. -- Will Startup pitched 7 1/3 innings of solid relief, and Georgia rallied from a 4-0 deficit to a 6-5 victory over William & Mary Wednesday.
Brandon Moorhead got his third save, despite loading the bases in the ninth with one out. Morehead fielded a grounder while falling down and threw home for the force-out, then struck out Terry Revere to end the game.
William & Mary (8-4) scored four unearned runs in the first inning off Michael Hyle, including a two-run single by Kyle Padgett, who was picked off at first by catcher Clint Sammons to end the outburst.
Sammons had a two-run single in the second. Georgia (7-4) cut it to 4-3 in the third on a wild pitch by Phil Bartleski. Joe Roenker (0-1) came in after the Bulldogs tied it with a run-scoring single in the fourth. He allowed two runs on four hits over the next 2 1/3 innings.
